How It Works
When someone donates to a Cause on Giveth, they’re not just supporting a single project, they’re contributing to a pool that is actively managed by a Donation Agent.
The Donation Agent
The Donation Agent is an AI-powered Agent that regularly pulls data from Giveth and external sources to assess projects within each Cause. It considers:
- Project Information from Giveth (title, description, update history)
- Social media activity such as posts on Twitter and Farcaster
- GIVpower scores and other ecosystem signals
Using the factors above, the Donation Agent prioritizes funding distribution to projects within the Cause according to:
- How relevant their content is to the Cause’s goals - How robust their impact evidence is - How active they are on socials - How often they leave updates on their Giveth project - The quality of the content on their project and socials - How much GIVpower they have
Fund Distribution
Each donation to a Cause is automatically bridged and swapped into GIV on Polygon via Squid Router, with minimal user friction. Donors can contribute from most EVM-compatible chains and with various tokens, but everything is ultimately converted into GIV.
Every 24 hours, the Donation Agent distributes 5% of the Cause pool’s current balance among the selected projects. The allocation follows this breakdown:
- 92% to projects, distributed based on scoring
- 5% to Giveth, to support platform sustainability
- 3% to the Cause creator, as an incentive to curate and promote high-quality Causes
